According to CoinMeta, [Institution: Expect European and American central banks to maintain interest rates unchanged in October, with the Fed possibly raising rates by 25 basis points in December] reported by Caixin on October 26th, the Federal Reserve (Fed) and the European Central Bank (ECB) will hold monetary policy meetings this week. Karsten Junius, Chief Economist and Head of Economic Research and Analysis at UBS Switzerland, believes that there is no need for European and American central banks to rush to raise rates in October. Although inflation risks still exist, both central banks must weigh the inflationary pressures caused by energy prices against the impact of tightening financial conditions. It is expected that the ECB will maintain its interest rates unchanged. On the U.S. side, UBS believes that inflation expectations reflected by market indicators remain stable, and with continued tightening of financial conditions, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell still has room to observe patiently. However, considering that inflation will find it difficult to return to the 2% target without further tightening of monetary policy, UBS maintains its forecast of the Fed gradually raising rates, expecting a 25 basis point increase in December, followed by three more quarterly increases next year. As demand gradually cools down, interest rates are expected to eventually rise to the range of 4.75% to 5%.
