According to CoinMeta, as reported by Cailian News on October 27th, driven by artificial intelligence (AI), the chip boom has boosted exports and investment, resulting in South Korea's economy growing faster than expected in the third quarter, providing a basis for further interest rate hikes. The Bank of Korea stated on Tuesday that in the three months ending September, gross domestic product grew by 1% compared to the previous quarter, exceeding economists' median forecast of 0.8%. South Korea's economy grew by 3.4% year-on-year in the third quarter, higher than the expected 3.1%, and the growth rate in the second quarter was 3.7%. This stronger-than-expected growth further indicates that despite external headwinds such as the Middle East wars, South Korea's chip boom is still driving economic expansion. The Bank of Korea expects that the economic growth rates this year and next will be significantly higher than previous forecasts, and plans to update its economic projections on November 26th.
