According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Reuters, Bank of America, Blackstone, Citibank, and Morgan Stanley will provide $63 billion in financing to purchase Broadcom's artificial intelligence chips and networking equipment for Anthropic. This is one of the largest debt transactions related to the construction of artificial intelligence computing power. The relevant companies stated that this transaction will be carried out through a newly established special purpose entity, which will purchase Broadcom's AI accelerated chips and networking equipment, and then rent them out to those developing Claude. Bank of America, Citibank, and Morgan Stanley are responsible for arranging the first-tier mortgage financing, while Blackstone provides the committed contribution for the second-tier mortgage financing. Broadcom offers "residual value support" to the lenders of the preferred debt, which is equivalent to providing a guarantee to the lenders within this financing structure. The companies mentioned that the delivery of this equipment is expected to begin in 2027 and is part of the previously announced strategic computing power supply agreement.
