Balancer Discovers Over $500,000 in Leftover Assets; Some Institutions Have Already Started Withdrawing
2026-10-27 08:31:33
According to CoinMeta, the decentralized trading protocol Balancer announced that during the process of counting DAO assets, it was accidentally discovered that external users and institutions had left more than $500,000 in assets within the protocol, along with unclaimed rewards, involving institutions such as Ethena and Gauntlet. Some of these liquid assets are recorded using Vault's internal accounting system and cannot be properly displayed in block browsers or asset management tools like DeBank. Balencer stated that relevant asset owners have been notified, and some institutions have already begun to withdraw their funds. Previously, the Balancer community had approved a proposal to gradually terminate the operation of the protocol, with some of the fund pools transitioning to a mode that only supports withdrawals starting on October 30th.
