According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Bloomberg, a Dutch cryptocurrency industry organization has warned that if cryptocurrencies are excluded from the proposed new capital gains tax regime, investors may sell off their crypto assets. Under the proposal from Dutch regulatory authorities, stocks, bonds, and options will be taxed at the time of sale starting from 2028, while cryptocurrencies, gold, and foreign exchange will still be subject to annual taxation on unrealized gains until at least 2030. The Dutch Ministry of Finance stated that distinguishing between asset categories is a transitional measure to accelerate tax reform, and the proposal is not yet final. The Dutch House of Representatives plans to vote on it on November 12th.
