According to CoinMeta, Microsoft has announced a voluntary resignation program for approximately 60,000 employees in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and certain departments in India, which accounts for 27% of its total global workforce. The list includes Xbox, Windows, finance, and human resources departments, as well as the Copilot and AI experience teams. Some data center positions, sales, and marketing departments are excluded from this program. There are no age or tenure requirements, and some vice president-level employees are also eligible to apply. Compensation will be based on standard severance packages, and employees must make their decisions by early December to leave by the end of the year. This is Microsoft's second voluntary resignation program this year, and it is expected that the acceptance rate for this round will be significantly lower, although the target number of employees to resign has not been announced.
