Citadel Securities Slowdown in India's Business Growth
2026-10-27 15:25:41
According to CoinMeta, due to tightened regulations and a cooling market, Citadel Securities reported a significant slowdown in the growth of revenue from its Indian business. According to documents provided by data service provider Tofler, in the fiscal year ending March of this year, the broker's operating income grew by about 4% to 41.7 billion rupees (equivalent to $438 million). Affected by rising costs, its after-tax profit decreased by 5% to 19.6 billion rupees. This performance stands in sharp contrast to the previous fiscal year, when its profits surged by 41% and revenue increased by 39%. These figures further indicate that the post-pandemic boom in India's capital market is beginning to cool down. Regulatory authorities are taking steps to curb speculative trading in options and futures markets to protect retail investors, which has hit the growth of institutions such as Citadel Securities and Hudson River Trading. Meanwhile, due to the booming artificial intelligence trading in the United States and the depreciation of the rupee, foreign institutional investors are turning to other more attractive markets.
