According to CoinMeta, new orders for core manufacturing capital goods in the United States increased in September, and shipments of related products soared, indicating that corporate equipment spending continued to grow strongly in the third quarter. The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce stated on Tuesday that non-defense capital goods orders, excluding aircraft, rose by 0.5% in September, compared to a 1.6% increase in August (the data was not revised), while economists had previously expected a 0.7% increase. Shipments of core capital goods, which are used to calculate the equipment spending portion in GDP, increased significantly by 1.2% in September, up from an 0.6% increase in August. Driven by substantial investment in the AI sector, corporate equipment spending has achieved double-digit growth for two consecutive quarters, providing important support for manufacturing and the overall economy. Economists expect that the preliminary figures for the third quarter's GDP released by the U.S. government on Thursday will show an annualized economic growth rate of over 3.0%. However, investors are increasingly concerned about the rising costs of long-term projects, as the returns on these projects remain uncertain.
