2026-10-28 02:05:34
According to CoinMeta, Electrum released version 4.8.3 on October 24, 2026, to fix a security vulnerability that could induce users to sign off on coin-stealing transactions. Malicious servers displayed fake transactions to users, tricking them into signing transactions that paid funds to the attackers' addresses while increasing the transaction fees. Attackers did not need to obtain the users' private keys. Electrum has received two reports related to this issue, with one user losing Bitcoin as a result. It is recommended that users update to version 4.8.3.
