According to CoinMeta, Canada’s largest bank, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), is preventing third-party artificial intelligence agents from accessing its banking systems, including those related to Meta and Muse. The reason given is that such technologies pose “unacceptable customer risks.” In an internal memo, the bank notified all employees on Tuesday about this policy change, stating that it complies with the company’s guidelines for responsible use of artificial intelligence. The bank stated that such agents “accessing the banking system may pose unacceptable customer risks, including acting beyond customer expectations or exposing customers to legal liabilities.” Last week, RBC’s CEO, Dave McKay, indicated that the bank was considering preventing Muse from accessing customer information.
