2026-10-28 11:20:37
According to CoinMeta, Anthropic has announced the acquisition of Mithril Medicine, a pharmaceutical company with only one full-time employee that is researching two rare forms of childhood muscular dystrophy. One of these projects has already achieved preliminary results from animal experiments. The founder of Mithril, Cody Tranbarger, utilizes Claude to handle contracts, analyze data, arrange experiments, and coordinate with 11 external laboratories, with additional support provided by part-time scientific advisors. After 6 weeks of treatment, the grip strength and muscle power of mice in the high-dose group were approximately twice that of the untreated group. Anthropic hopes to begin human clinical trials for the first project by the end of 2028 at the earliest. Meanwhile, Anthropic is also collaborating with six other institutions, including Bristol-Myers Squibb, to evaluate the research and development plans.
