Pan-European exchange suspends CoinShares Zcash ETP trading due to settlement issues
2026-10-29 13:21:10
According to CoinMeta, the pan-European exchange (Euronext) suspended trading of the asset in its Paris market just a few hours after its launch on (CoinShares). The reason was that the central securities depository institution was unable to support the related settlement operations. This suspension prevented (CoinShares) from participating in (Zcash ETP) transactions, while products from 21Shares, (Virtune), and (Valor) continued to trade in the European market. A spokesperson for the pan-European exchange stated that the suspension was not related to regulatory issues, but rather a problem with the settlement infrastructure. Until the central securities depository institution could fully support standard settlement operations, the asset will remain frozen. The EU's anti-money laundering regulations will come into full effect on July 1, 2027, prohibiting licensed crypto companies from handling privacy coins such as (Zcash) and interacting with anonymous wallets.
