According to CoinMeta, Wu said that multiple Polymarket users reported in the community that their account assets were transferred without authorization, with some users suffering losses of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some users suspected that there were security vulnerabilities in the website's front-end or that malicious code had been implanted. They claimed that after closing all browser tabs that were logged into Polymarket, the abnormal transfers stopped, but the specific cause has not yet been confirmed. The official team of Polymarket stated that the exchange has now entered a mode that only allows canceling orders and has temporarily suspended the operations of the relayer (relayer), while investigating the related incident. Previously, Polymarket reported that one of its third-party suppliers was hacked, resulting in malicious code being implanted in the website's front-end and approximately 3 million dollars of user assets being stolen. However, they stated that the relevant vulnerabilities have been fixed and that they will compensate the affected users in full.
