OKX Founder Star Calls on Exchanges to Jointly Establish Security Standards
2026-10-30 09:50:31
According to CoinMeta, the founder of OKX and also associated with CEO Star stated that recent security incidents involving Bybit, Bitget, and Binance should serve as a wake-up call for the entire industry. Security should not be a field for commercial competition. There is currently no conclusive evidence indicating a leak of private keys from hot wallets of Binance; the issue may lie in access control and wallet management systems. Star calls on major exchanges to jointly establish security standards, including additional verification and security delays for large withdrawals to unknown addresses and smart contract authorizations. Security restrictions must be strictly enforced at the cryptography signature layer, and mechanisms for real-time notification of security incidents, monitoring of suspicious funds, and rapid freezing of stolen assets need to be established. At the same time, they must work together to address the security threats posed by quantum computing and AI.
