According to CoinMeta, Neuralink has unveiled a new feature: users simply need to try to say “hey neuralink” in their minds, and then describe the task they want to complete, allowing Grok agent to operate the computer autonomously without the need to manually enter commands. Neuralink Engineers recently visited the home of a subject with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) to develop and test this new feature for 72 consecutive hours. The subject was able to generate speech through a brain-computer interface, make phone calls to their wife, and even place orders at a coffee shop. Two days ago, Neuralink also announced early results of the speech restoration trials: a ALS subject was able to output 75 English words per minute in the first week of use, with a word error rate of 5.8%. Musk predicts that in the coming years, the information output speed of brain-computer interfaces will far exceed that of human speech or typing.
