According to CoinMeta, Binance recently suffered a record $6.3 billion cryptocurrency hacking attack. The hackers transferred funds within about 20 minutes by compromising an engineer's laptop. Investigators have linked this attack to the North Korean hacker group TraderTraitor. Currently, approximately $3 billion in funds have been frozen, with assistance provided by Tether and Circle. Binance stated that it will cover customer losses and expects to resume withdrawals soon.
