According to CoinMeta, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission announced that today, the Hong Kong Exchange has expanded the scope of eligible non-cash margin collateral to include Chinese government bonds and bonds issued by Chinese policy banks, applicable to its listed derivatives clearing houses. The relevant clearing houses have reduced the financing fees for non-cash margin collateral to an annual rate of 0.15%. Leung Chung-hin, Executive Director of the Market Surveillance Department of the Securities and Futures Commission, stated that further expanding the use of Chinese government bonds as collateral not only reduces the financing costs for market participants but also helps to expand their application scenarios in the offshore market.
