According to CoinMeta, after evaluating productivity and risks, Goldman Sachs prohibited most employees from using advanced artificial intelligence tools designed for programming, a move that caused dissatisfaction among some. For months, Goldman Sachs has allowed bankers to use Anthropic PBC's Claude Code and Microsoft's GitHub in their work. Now, these tools will be limited to use by engineers only. An informed source stated that this ban has displeased some traders who previously utilized these tools to speed up tasks such as monitoring customer transaction flows, modeling market changes and positions, as well as creating textual and graphical content.
