According to CoinMeta, Solana validators encountered a security vulnerability, which led to the attackers stealing the keys of five operators, resulting in a loss of approximately $135,000 in encrypted assets. According to the investigation by Bitquery, the attackers gained control of the operation keys related to five validators, including Solflare, Blockdaemon, and Astraeus. The incident occurred between October 26th and 27th, and investigators traced 1,343 SOL and 57 ETH to be transferred to Tornado Cash. This attack did not affect customers' SOL, but four active validators transferred approximately 1,188 SOL to the attacker-controlled wallets within a short period. Subsequently, the attackers emptied the validators' voting accounts, preventing the affected operators from paying the participation fees. This incident highlights additional operational vulnerabilities in the Solana validator ecosystem.
