ANZ Bank: Concerns about US debt persist, the upward trend of US Treasuries may be limited
2026-11-04 10:22:53
According to CoinMeta, Jake Chambers, an interest rate strategist at ANZ Bank, stated that concerns about U.S. debt continue, and if the Democrats win outright in the U.S. midterms, it will be more difficult to adjust U.S. fiscal policy in the coming years. This may mean that the federal budget deficit will not expand further, but it also means that the deficit will remain at a relatively high level. Chambers is skeptical about the midterms being able to drive a sustained rise in the U.S. debt market. He added that U.S. economic activity indicators are performing robustly, providing support for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates further, which also implies that U.S. bond yields may continue to remain in a higher range.
