Qatar poised to become the world's largest buyer of US liquefied natural gas

According to CoinMeta, and as reported by the Financial Times, Qatar's state-owned energy company is set to become the world's largest buyer of US liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the early years of the next decade. With the Middle East wars reducing Qatar's natural gas exports, the country is seeking new sources of supply. In late October, Qatar Energy signed two agreements that will increase its annual supply of LNG available for sale to international customers by 7 million tons. Together with its share of production from the LNG project in Texas (Qatar Energy holds a 70% stake in this project), by 2033, Qatar Energy is expected to control an annual supply of 23.7 million tons of US LNG. Research firm Wood Mackenzie says this will make it the largest buyer of US LNG.
