Kaitou Macro: Saudi Arabia's non-oil economy under pressure next year
2026-11-04 15:47:34
According to CoinMeta, KaiTou Macro analyst Nicolas Crittenden stated that as Saudi Arabia gradually returns to a cycle of monetary tightening, the weak recovery of the country's non-oil sector is expected to continue into next year. Although Saudi Arabia's budget deficit more than doubled in the third quarter, reaching approximately $22 billion, KaiTou Macro expects that oil prices and Saudi government revenue will decline over the coming year as shipping through the Strait of Hormuz gradually resumes. Kritenden noted that since Saudi Arabia typically relies on oil revenues to fund public services, the non-oil sector may face operational pressures in the absence of sufficient fiscal support. He added, "The public financial situation in Saudi Arabia's non-oil sector is already very difficult, especially after the escalation of the conflict in Yemen."
