Deutsche Bank: After Democrats win midterms, Trump may rely more on executive orders to govern
2026-11-04 16:00:35
According to CoinMeta, Christoph Bals, an analyst at Deutsche Bank, stated that after the Democratic Party achieved a decisive victory in the midterms, U.S. President Donald Trump may rely primarily on executive orders to implement policies in the future, with a focus on areas where the president has greater autonomy, such as foreign policy. He pointed out that this means Trump's tariff policies may continue, and his further strengthening of foreign policy actions could have an adverse impact on Europe. In addition, the risk of a budget conflict in the United States remains high, and Trump may trigger new budget disputes due to the financing needs of the Iran war. Bals noted that the current budget funds for the U.S. federal government are only approved until December 11th, and by then, a consensus must be reached on new funding measures; otherwise, the United States may face another government shutdown similar to that in 2025.
