Swiss UBS: A Democratic Party victory in mid-term elections could ease policy pressures on pharmaceutical companies
2026-11-04 16:12:50
According to CoinMeta, Jean-Philippe Bercher, an analyst at UBS Group in Switzerland, stated in a research report that if the Democratic Party controls both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, it could alleviate a policy obstacle faced by Swiss pharmaceutical companies. He pointed out that with Democrats in control of both chambers of Congress, there may be increased scrutiny of Trump's international drug pricing agreements, thereby reducing the likelihood of these agreements being enacted into law. However, he also mentioned that since the Democratic Party prioritizes reducing the cost of prescription drugs, this limits the room for generally optimistic assessments of the entire pharmaceutical industry.
