Claude starts building its own chips, Anthropic demonstrates new capabilities to investors of IPO

According to CoinMeta, Claude has begun designing its own AI chips, and Anthropic is using this capability to demonstrate to IPO investors. The company's team of only 15 people dedicated to chip development has already applied Claude in actual engineering projects, with some tasks taking less time than estimated for traditional chip manufacturers. Anthropic announced its self-developed chips back in August of this year and is now starting to showcase its chip-making capabilities to investors. If Claude can help with chip development and provide design tools to other semiconductor companies, it could enter a market worth tens of billions of dollars. Currently, the annual revenue of chip design software giants Synopsys and Cadence is estimated to be around $16 billion combined. This news sparked a reaction in the market; on November 3rd, the stock prices of Synopsys and Cadence fell by about 4% during trading. Competitor OpenAI is also making moves, having used its own models to assist in the development of Jalape chips and signed a multi-year cooperation agreement with Synopsys to develop models specifically for chip design.
