Binance safu Fund: 7,500 Bitcoins Transferred to an Unmarked Wallet
2026-11-04 17:40:11
According to CoinMeta, on November 3 at 5:56 AM, Binance’s safu fund transferred 7,500 Bitcoins to an unmarked wallet. This wallet then split the funds into approximately 150 transfers, each containing around 50 Bitcoins, some of which were later merged and transferred out. These Bitcoins were withdrawn from Binance’s User Safety Asset Fund (safu) on October 31 to cover losses resulting from the theft of hot wallets. Currently, there are slightly over 7,500 Bitcoins remaining in the safu fund, valued at about $572 million, which is below Binance’s required $800 million rebalancing threshold. Binance has pledged to replenish the safu fund to around $1 billion, but has not yet announced a timeline for this replenishment. On-chain data does not reveal the ownership of the receiving address, and Binance has not provided any explanation for this transfer.
