According to CoinMeta, Zelestra Corp, a Spanish renewable energy company under EQT, plans to invest 10.5 billion euros (approximately $11.8 billion) over four years to meet the growing energy demands of artificial intelligence projects in the United States. Leonardo Moreno, the CEO of Zelestra, stated that this investment plan is part of the company's yet-to-be-released new strategy for 2026-2030, with a focus on the U.S. market. Moreno pointed out, "The operation of AI is inseparable from electricity, and AI customers need energy partners that can provide customized solutions, and most of these customers are located in the United States." With the United States significantly increasing its investments in renewable energy, solar and battery storage accounted for 70% of the new power generation capacity added in the first half of 2026. This has prompted companies like Zelestra to seek to expand their own power generation capabilities and enhance their presence in the U.S. market.
