2026-11-05 18:34:11
According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Reuters, after Binance suffered a $6.3 billion hacker attack last week, the Federal Reserve Board of the United States and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency began contacting banks this Monday to inquire about any abnormal activities or service interruptions in the systems, in order to assess the risk of the spread of security incidents in the crypto market to the traditional financial system. Multiple banks are conducting security diagnostics on their internal systems to evaluate whether there are any vulnerabilities that could be exploited by similar attack methods. The cybersecurity team of a large American bank has already contacted Binance and has begun to prepare an internal report. Binance is maintaining contact with global regulatory authorities to inform them of the security incident. The Federal Reserve and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency declined to comment. Banks are investing resources in reviewing and repairing their cybersecurity codes to address the increased challenges posed by the evolution of the AI model.
