French credit cooperative bank Akia suffers cyberattack, losing about 100 million euros

According to CoinMeta, the French regional banking giant Crédit Mutuel d’Aquitaine (cr é dit mutuel ark éa) has confirmed that it has suffered an external cyberattack on its automated data processing system. Hackers carried out fraudulent transfers by gaining access to the bank's own accounts, illegally transferring approximately 100 million euros (about 112 million US dollars). The bank emphasized that the attack is now under control, and the affected accounts were the bank's own accounts, not customer accounts, so no customer assets were lost. Moreover, the extent of this loss does not pose a threat to the bank's financial stability. The bank revealed that the stolen funds were subsequently converted into virtual assets through specialized cryptocurrency trading platforms, and some of the funds have been successfully intercepted. Currently, the bank is cooperating fully with the Parisian prosecution and law enforcement authorities to recover the funds. Previously, the blockchain detective zachxbt was the first to disclose this incident, detecting that over 133 million US dollars in stolen funds were directed to cryptocurrency exchange accounts such as kraken, cryptocom, and okx.
