Meloni calls for the EU to unify Russian-Ukrainian negotiation representatives and establish a clear authorization mechanism

According to CoinMeta, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has called on the European Union (EU) to discuss who should represent it in negotiations related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and what authority such representatives should have. She believes that the current mechanism may undermine the EU's credibility. In a letter to European Council President Antonio Costa, Meloni expressed her hope that the leaders of the 27 EU member states would discuss this issue during an informal summit to be held next week in Dublin. She is convinced that all parties are aware that if Europe appears to be incoordinated in its actions, it is actually helping those who wish for the continuation of the war. Given that human lives and the future security of Europe are at stake, such a situation is unacceptable. Meloni stated that she is not seeking Italy to obtain a formal negotiating seat, but rather hopes that the EU can make a decision by the time of the leaders' meeting in December. Otherwise, she fears that Europe may gradually lose its influence throughout the negotiation process.
