According to CoinMeta, the lending protocol Loopscale on which Solana is based has announced a temporary suspension of operations due to encountering over 30,000 malicious requests per day. Nevertheless, the team assures that users' deposits are still safe. In a statement on November 5th, it was mentioned that the security system detected a significant escalation in attacks, with the protocol receiving over 30,000 malicious requests per day in the past week. The team described this attack as the continuous action of a sophisticated attacker and stated that they immediately suspended protocol activities to limit the impact. This attack specifically targeted the genesis wallets of their SOL and USDC tokens. The team is investigating the incident and is working to restore full functionality as soon as possible. Although the protocol is still in a suspended state, Loopscale plans to reopen the user interface as soon as possible, with priority given to restoring the loan repayment function to avoid borrowers facing unexpected liquidations.
