Nomura: The selling of Korean stocks seems to have gone too far

According to CoinMeta, a team led by analyst Cindy Park at Nomura Securities suggests that the South Korean KOSPI index is currently in a state of oversold conditions. In a research report, the analysts pointed out that global stock markets are being dragged down by rising interest rates, high oil prices, and other risk factors, with the South Korean stock market experiencing a more significant decline than other major global markets. Since August, the index has fallen by 18% and is currently hovering around 5,400 points. Nomura Securities has set a target range for the South Korean KOSPI index for the next three months at 7,500 to 8,000 points to reflect macroeconomic and artificial intelligence-related risks, but they maintain their long-term target of 10,000 points unchanged. The analysts also noted that investments in artificial intelligence, an expansion of corporate buybacks, and market reform measures aimed at enhancing corporate value could all serve as catalysts for a rise in the South Korean stock market.
