Binance Restores HYPE Withdrawal Service After Suffering a $6.4 Billion Hacker Attack
2026-11-08 22:28:27
According to CoinMeta, Binance announced that it has officially resumed the withdrawal services for Hyperliquid and Aptos after experiencing a hacker attack worth approximately $6.4 billion. This decision was confirmed by the platform's co-founder and president, Yi He, and the restoration of services took place after the completion of an audit. The background for this resumption of withdrawals is due to a week-long confrontation with the HYPE community; holders of HYPE tokens had to wait even longer to withdraw their funds from Binance. According to reports from FBI and Chainalysis, North Korean hacker group TraderTraitor emptied the hot wallets of Binance in just 20 minutes, resulting in losses of about $6.3 billion. Subsequently, with the help of Tether and Circle, Binance managed to freeze $3 billion and pledged to cover 100% of users' funds through the SAFU fund.
