According to CoinMeta, the Iranian Navy stated on the 8th local time that an illegal oil tanker sailing in the no-go zone in the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz hit a mine and caught fire. The oil tanker had previously turned off its navigation system. The Iranian side said that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed to illegal vessels until all threats are eliminated.
