The U.S. Senate will vote to advance the AI legislation
2026-11-09 02:35:18
According to CoinMeta, as reported by coinbureau, tomorrow the U.S. Senate will conduct a vote on a bill that could accelerate the development of artificial intelligence in the United States, requiring 60 votes to pass. The vote is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday. The bill aims to reform the licensing processes for federal pipelines, power lines, wind farms, and solar projects, set deadlines for environmental reviews, and reduce the time opponents have to challenge approvals in court. The Democratic Party's victory in the midterms has made it more difficult for the bill to pass, with some progressives even hoping to renegotiate it when Democrats regain control of Congress in 2027. Tribes and environmental organizations are also putting pressure on the issue. For the artificial intelligence industry, a faster approval process could lead to data centers going online sooner. There are less than two months left before the new Congress takes over to pass this bill.
