Nomura: The RBA may raise interest rates for the last time in February next year
2026-11-09 03:05:36
According to CoinMeta, Nomura Securities believes that the financial environment in Australia is currently at a restrictive level, and the bank's baseline scenario remains that cash interest rates have already peaked. Nomura estimates that there is about a 33% chance of the RBA raising interest rates once more in the future, with the most likely timing being around February next year. After that, it is expected that the RBA will undertake several interest rate cuts starting from August 2027, by which time the unemployment rate will have risen and oil prices will have fallen, allowing the RBA to be confident that inflation will return to target levels.
