According to CoinMeta, in its latest research update on November 5th, Blockstream tested hardware wallets that included Jade, Ledger, Trezor, and Bitbox. The results showed that these devices were capable of generating quantum-resistant signatures without the need for entirely new hardware. The study indicates that existing devices may be more adaptable than previously thought. Although current quantum computers do not yet have the capability to crack Bitcoin encryption, researchers believe it is essential to prepare the security infrastructure for Bitcoin in advance before quantum computers become practical.
