New York, September 28, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- S& P Global (NYSE ticker: SPGI) announced today that credit data from S& P Global Ratings under the identifier RatingsXpress is now available through S& P Global AI Data Portal. This platform allows customers to seamlessly access verifiable data via any AI application that supports MCP. This new feature incorporates one of the most widely used sources of credit information in the industry into S& P Global's reliable AI data delivery ecosystem, enabling customers to build AI-driven workflows based on high-quality, credible P Global data.

Provided by S& P Global Market Intelligence, RatingsXpress covers nearly 1 million issuers and securities-level credit ratings, as well as outlooks, CreditWatch status, and rating actions from S& P Global Ratings. With today's announcement, this dataset is now accessible through S& P Global AI Data Portal's Deterministic Retrieval method. This method offers API-driven access via direct, structured queries, making it suitable for focused workflows where users know the specific data they need.

This new feature is built upon S& P Global AI Data Portal Adaptive Retrieval recently launched by S& P Global. The latter will support RatingsXpress data in the coming weeks. Adaptive Retrieval is designed to support more complex and open workflows, enabling AI agents and large language models (LLM) to retrieve and integrate information across multiple S& P Global datasets through natural language queries. Once it is launched, customers will be able to use Deterministic Retrieval, Adaptive Retrieval, or a combination of both, to access RatingsXpress data in a way that best suits their workflows. This will help to reduce the time spent on searching for, verifying, and applying rating information.

"The credit team is under pressure to assess risks more quickly and monitor across an increasingly diversified portfolio across industries and markets," said Whit McGraw, the head of the S& P Global Market Intelligence platform. "By integrating RatingsXpress credit data into S& P Global AI Data Portal, they can move more swiftly from identifying issues to finding solutions, and each response is based on verifiable intelligence from S& P Global Ratings."

Main Functions:

  • Natural language queries can be performed using mainstream LLM that includes GPT, Gemini, and Claude.
  • Available via S& P Global AI Data Portal, it currently provides Deterministic Retrieval for focused, structured queries. In the coming weeks, Adaptive Retrieval will be launched, which is suitable for complex, multi-data set workflows.
  • Supports credit risk analysis, investment analysis, portfolio monitoring, counterparty assessment, rating monitoring, and due diligence.
  • Available data includes issuer and debt rating, outlook, CreditWatch status, and rating actions.

Today's announcement advances the operational model recently announced by S& P Global Market Intelligence. It combines the unparalleled breadth and depth of data in this department with profound industry expertise, along with more integrated AI driving tools, workflows, and experiences. S& P Global Market Intelligence and S& P Global Ratings are independently managed business units under S& P Global.
