IT News on September 29th: LG Innotek recently announced that it will collaborate with autonomous driving software company Applied Intuition to deploy vehicles for collecting autonomous driving sensor data within South Korea.
The company plans to launch a fleet operation in South Korea, focusing on areas such as Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province, with the goal of deploying 20 data collection vehicles and autonomous driving software development vehicles by 2028. These cooperative vehicles will also be deployed in the United States, Europe, and Japan.
Although global autonomous driving companies are investing heavily in fleet operations, it is still rare for autonomous driving sensing solution companies to operate their own fleets for data collection within the industry.

These autonomous vehicles will be equipped with cameras from LG Innotek, (conventional) radars, and lidars. The company plans to actively utilize the collected data, in conjunction with digital twin environments, to enhance the performance of each sensor and verify the effectiveness of the system, laying a technical foundation for expanding sales channels.

LG Innotek will focus on sensor fusion and extreme working condition scenarios, and protect the privacy of the public's personal information in practice.
