This is a 1.85 MW level air-cooled magnetic levitation chiller platform that can operate in 45°C environments, targeting the next generation of AI data centers that face water shortages and higher ambient temperatures.
As AI computing drives higher power demands and greater thermal density, data center operators need to be able to scale their cooling infrastructure without increasing their reliance on water. MagPro indicates that AeroLev 1850 combines an architecture that does not require cooling towers, oil-free magnetic levitation technology, and intelligent control to provide efficient and reliable cooling while reducing water usage.
The core of this platform is a dedicated air-cooled magnetic levitation compressor, which can achieve an isentropic efficiency of up to 87%. A patented condenser enables a subcooling degree of over 3°C, and the standard EC fan further enhances energy efficiency. MagPro claims that these technologies combined can increase overall energy efficiency by up to 40% compared to traditional oil-lubricated compressors, reduce failure rates by up to 8%, and lower maintenance costs by up to 10% when compared to traditional chillers.
By eliminating the use of evaporative cooling water, AeroLev has removed an important operational constraint for data centers in arid and water-scarce regions. Its free-cooling capability allows it to utilize ambient air during cooler times, reducing the operating time of compressors, power consumption, and operational costs.
The platform is also designed to accommodate the trends towards direct-chip cooling and immersion liquid cooling. The AeroLev 1850 can provide chilled water up to 45°C, supporting emerging high-temperature cooling architectures without the need for significant reinvestment in infrastructure. Its standardized and modular design facilitates quick installation and allows for flexible expansion as the computing power of the AI increases.
