Unseenlabs announces that it will simultaneously launch BRO-23 (a Gen 1-nanometer satellite) and BRO-32 (a Gen 2-microsatellite). Both satellites will be launched on October 1st at 11:18 a.m. Pacific Time aboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California as part of a Transporter-18 joint launch mission. The integration of the two satellites is overseen by Exolaunch.
The company stated that this is the first time for Unseenlabs to launch both a Gen 1 satellite and a Gen 2 satellite simultaneously in the same mission. After deployment, BRO-23 and BRO-32 will expand the constellation of Unseenlabs to 25 satellites, with each satellite adding complementary capabilities.
The president and CEO of the US company, Craig Brower, stated: "The launch of BRO-23 and BRO-32 demonstrates how our two generations of satellites complement each other. Thanks to the work of our team, we continue to enhance our maritime capabilities with Gen 1, while Gen 2 expands the types of launch sources we can use for detection at sea, on land, and in space."
BRO-32 will continue to deploy Gen 2
Following BRO-31, as the first of two Gen satellites for Unseenlabs, BRO-32 will continue the deployment of this new generation of satellites. Its coverage of L, S, C, and X frequency bands will enable the company to detect, identify, locate, and perform feature analysis on a wider range of radio frequency emission sources in maritime, terrestrial, and space environments.
Two generations of satellites will continue to be deployed in the same constellation. Thanks to the single-satellite technology of Unseenlabs, each satellite can operate independently. Therefore, BRO-23 will enhance the constellation's maritime detection capabilities, while BRO-32 will expand its capabilities to meet new operational needs.
BRO-23 will enhance the maritime capabilities of Unseenlabs.
BRO-23 is a 1-nanometer satellite of Gen, which will enhance the maritime monitoring capabilities of Unseenlabs through space-based radio frequency signal detection. It will detect radio frequency signals emitted by ships at sea, including those that do not report their positions through AIS.
