Foshan, September 30, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Transmart Industrial Limited, a manufacturer of soft magnetic materials and transformer cores, stated that the company is applying nanocrystalline, amorphous, and silicon steel core technologies to power infrastructure and AI data center customers. As power electronics are developing towards higher switching frequencies and higher power densities, the performance of the core materials inside transformers, inductors, or filters has become an important factor affecting system efficiency and size.

25 years of expertise in soft magnetic materials

Transmart indicates that the company has been focusing on the manufacturing of soft magnetic materials and transformer cores for over 25 years. The company is an integrated trading and manufacturing enterprise, operating two specialized production factories in China. One factory mainly produces silicon steel cores, current sensor cores, and instrument transformer cores; the other factory specializes in nanocrystalline cores, amorphous cores, and common mode inductors. Both factories have passed internationally recognized quality system certifications, including ISO ISO 9001, ISO ISO 14001, ISO ISO 45001, and IATF ISO 16949.

According to Transmart, the company currently serves customers in over 50 countries, with its customer base mainly concentrated in Europe. As a manufacturer of tape-wound magnetic cores, the company positions itself as a one-stop supplier in the soft magnetic core value chain, covering all aspects of the business from raw tape and lamination processing to the final wound components. The company also provides free common-mode inductor (CMC) scheme design, OEM customization, as well as development of thickness and material formulations according to customer requirements.

12–14 micron strip technology

The core of the Transmart technology platform is its ability to produce nanocrystalline strip materials with a thickness of 12 to 14 micrometers, a specification that only a few manufacturers in the world are capable of achieving. Thinner strip materials can reduce eddy current losses under high-frequency conditions, enabling engineers to design transformers, inductors, and filters that operate at the same power level but are cooler, smaller in size, and lighter in weight.

Transmart indicates that the company supports this capability through a series of independently developed patented production lines, which cover precision slitting, automatic winding, vacuum annealing, and multi-wire cutting. These production lines enable the company to control the dimensions of the strip material, magnetic properties, and the geometric shape of the magnetic cores during the manufacturing process. The company's nanocrystalline cut magnetic cores have a core loss as low as 0.4 W/ kg under 20 kHz and 50 mT test conditions. Its 3000 permeability nanocrystalline strip material is specifically designed for high-frequency transformer applications, aiming to help maintain stable performance over a wider frequency range through controlled permeability.

The amorphous core product portfolio of Transmart complements this platform, suitable for applications with lower switching frequencies but higher requirements for energy efficiency, including geometric shapes such as toroidal, C-shaped, E-shaped, block-shaped, and amorphous stator cores.

Silicon steel remains the foundation.

In addition to nanocrystalline and amorphous technologies, Transmart also maintains a complete range of oriented silicon steel platforms. The company provides materials with full standard thicknesses ranging from 0.05 millimeters to 0.35 millimeters, including thickness specifications of 0.05 millimeters, 0.10 millimeters, 0.18 millimeters, 0.20 millimeters, 0.23 millimeters, 0.27 millimeters, 0.30 millimeters, and 0.35 millimeters. They cover a wide range of core geometries such as ring-shaped, split-type, C-type, E-type, block-shaped, rectangular, elliptical, and multi-cut cores. Transmart states that silicon steel remains a proven and cost-effective basic material in large-scale power and distribution applications, and it also allows customers to obtain both mature and emerging soft magnetic material technologies from a single source.

From the power grid to data centers

According to Transmart, its core technology is widely applied in the fields of power infrastructure and power electronics, including:

  • Power grids and distribution: Transformer cores for current and voltage detection, as well as instrument transformers cores
  • AI Data Center: Core magnets used for high-frequency power conversion, filtering, and current detection, serving high-density computing power architectures
  • Renewable Energy: Core Materials for Solar and Wind Power Inverter Systems
  • Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure: Core Magnets Supporting Power Conversion for Charging Devices
  • EMI / EMC Filter: Common-mode inductors used for noise suppression in switching power supply systems
  • Current and Instrumentation Detection: Nanocrystalline and Permalloy Core Materials for Precision Current Transformers

Transmart Director Richard LONG stated: "As the power system develops towards higher frequencies and greater density, the performance of core materials is becoming one of the decisive factors in system design. This is true not only in grid upgrades but also increasingly so in the power architecture of AI data centers. Looking to the future, North America is the market where we see this change occurring rapidly, and it is also the region where we hope to expand our contact with customers and partners."

Focus on North America

Transmart indicates that the company's customer base has historically been concentrated in Europe, but it is now placing increasing emphasis on serving North American customers. According to the "Short-Term Energy Outlook" released by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) in January 2026, electricity consumption in the United States is expected to grow by 1% in 2026 and accelerate to 3% in 2027. This will mark the strongest four-year growth cycle for electricity demand in the US since 2000, and it is also the first time that demand has grown for four consecutive years since 2007. EIA attributes this growth largely to the rapid expansion of large computing facilities and AI workloads.

According to Transmart, this trend towards higher power demands, which is highly concentrated in investments in data centers and power grid infrastructure, aligns perfectly with the company's focus on high-frequency, high-efficiency soft magnetic materials. Leveraging its manufacturing scale, certification foundation, and experience in exporting to over 50 countries, Transmart is actively expanding its contacts with North American customers, partners, and engineering teams. The company also welcomes inquiries from organizations that are evaluating soft magnetic core suppliers or seeking customized core and common-mode inductor solutions for power and data infrastructure projects.

Next phase: Solid-state transformers

Looking to the future, Transmart is closely monitoring the development of solid-state transformer (SST) technology. This technology is an emerging architecture that integrates power conversion and voltage transformation functions. The industry generally believes that SST could be one of the long-term directions for power systems, including power supply for AI data centers. However, this technology is still in the early stages of research and development, with limited commercial deployment. Transmart believes that its existing capabilities in nanocrystalline and amorphous materials, especially in ultra-thin strip processing and high-frequency core design, can provide a technical foundation for the future development of SST and other integrated power architectures. The company will continue to pay close attention to this field.
