IT News on October 1st: Samsung announced today (October 1st) the launch of its first over-ear headphones, Galaxy Buds On, which are designed for comfort when worn outdoors and provide ambient sound perception.
In terms of appearance, Galaxy Buds On adopts a clip-on (clip-on) structure that wraps around the earlobe without inserting into the ear canal, allowing users to perceive ambient sounds while walking, cycling, or running.
In terms of wearing experience, Samsung stated that they studied different earlobe shapes and determined the positions of the speakers and battery through simulation. They also continuously adjusted the elasticity and contact area of the ear clamps to achieve a more even pressure distribution, thereby improving comfort during prolonged wear.
In terms of sound quality, to address the issues of weak bass response and sound leakage in open-back headphones, Samsung has introduced the TwinBoost speaker technology to compensate for the low frequencies, and is also equipped with a sound suppression (Audio Leakage Reduction) function to limit sound leakage in scenarios such as cafes and libraries.
The hardware platform utilizes Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen audio technology and integrates a high-efficiency Class-D amplifier to optimize power consumption, providing up to 9.5 hours of music playback on a single charge.
In terms of call quality, it continues with the Intelligent Clear Call technology, combining three microphones, bone conduction vibration sensors (Voice Pickup Unit Sensor), and machine learning algorithms to separate human voices from background noise.

In terms of interaction, after Galaxy Buds On is linked with mobile phones or tablets that support Galaxy AI, operations such as conducting conversations, viewing memos, and checking notifications can be completed via voice when it is inconvenient to use both hands.
By saying “Hey Google, let's go live”, users can invoke Gemini Live to initiate a continuous conversation. Long-pressing the back of the headset allows for quick recording, which generates Quick Voice Memo, which can be directly retrieved through Bixby. The product also offers a head gesture feature (Head Gestures), which recognizes nodding and shaking of the head to perform actions such as answering/hanging up calls, turning off alarms, and reading message notifications.

In terms of pricing, the Korean market will be the first to launch the product on October 27th, with only a black version available, priced at 299,000 Korean Won (Note from IT: The current exchange rate is approximately 1,482 RMB per Korean Won). Upon checking Samsung's official Chinese website, no relevant information about Galaxy Buds On has been found yet.
