Asian chip companies' stock prices are falling, with funds shifting to so-called AI hedging transactions, while Indian software services sector stocks are expected to record the largest increase in 17 months.
The National Stock Exchange of India’s Nifty IT index rose by 4.9% at one point, with HCL technology stocks and Tata Consultancy leading the gains. Broadcom CEO stated that the investment atmosphere was akin to gambling in a casino. Influenced by this statement, the South Korean Composite Index, which is heavily weighted with chip stocks, fell by over 5%.
Allen Richardson, portfolio manager at Samsung Asset Management, stated: "Whenever the price of AI falls, Indian IT stocks see a rebound." However, he also noted that this alone is not sufficient to attract foreign capital back; there needs to be both profitability and a sustained improvement in stock prices.
Benefiting from quarterly financial results that exceeded expectations as of September, HCL Technologies rose as much as 8.1% during trading on Tuesday, reaching 1321.55 rupees. Tata Consultancy Services' quarterly profits also surpassed analysts' forecasts. Asia's largest IT service provider achieved growth in performance by implementing cost-cutting measures and gradually improving order volumes.
