A senior marketing executive, Laura Fay, who reported directly to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, retired in July after working at NVIDIA for approximately ten years.

Fay previously served as Vice President of Global Corporate Marketing at NVIDIA, responsible for marketing campaigns, event planning, analyst relations, and partner marketing. She said that by the time she left the company, her team had grown from about 60 people to 600 people.

Fay appeared on an internal list obtained by Business Insider last year, which listed 36 company leaders who reported directly to Jensen Huang. Before joining NVIDIA, she worked at Cisco for 22 years and held the position of Vice President of Global Marketing at the time of her departure.

Fay said that Jensen Huang once recruited her to build NVIDIA's corporate marketing organization, at a time when the company was seeking to expand beyond its gaming business.

“I wanted to change the world, and I hoped you would change the world with me,” she recalled that Jensen Huang said to her during their first call.

Fay indicates that she began considering retirement around January of this year, which coincided with her 10th anniversary of joining the company. However, Jensen Huang called to congratulate her and expressed his hope that she would stay for another ten years, which led her to decide to stay a bit longer.

NVIDIA refuses to comment.

On the occasion of its retirement, NVIDIA also introduced a new marketing leadership team. In February of this year, the company hired Alison Wagonfeld, a senior executive from Google Cloud, to serve as the company's first Chief Marketing Officer.

The Wall Street Journal reported at the time that Wagonfeld would be responsible for all marketing and communications teams, taking over responsibilities that were previously shared among multiple leaders.

These changes occurred after another long-term marketing manager left the company. Greg Estes, former Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Developer Programs at NVIDIA, retired in 2025 after serving the company for about 15 years.

Since the beginning of this year, several former NVIDIA employees have retired, including Sales Director Jay Puri, Chief Financial Officer Donald Robertson, and Vice President of Hardware Engineering Robert Huang. Some of these retired employees told Business Insider that the exponential increase in NVIDIA's stock price prompted them to make the decision to retire.

As external scrutiny of NVIDIA intensifies, the company's communications department has also undergone adjustments. Since 2025, approximately 15 employees have left the company amid the reorganization driven by the new leadership.
