Las Vegas, October 22 (Reuters) / PRNewswire / -- BOXABL Inc. (Nasdaq: BXBL) Today, Sage Memorial Hospital in Ganado, Arizona, announced the groundbreaking ceremony for its employee housing project on October 14, 2026. The project will utilize BOXABL Studio Casitas. The related units will provide employee housing for clinical and support staff at the hospital.
The first phase of this project includes 15 sets of Studio Casitas. BOXABL is expected to deliver these units within about 60 days, and the first phase is anticipated to be completed by the end of the year. BOXABL also expects to see more units added as the project progresses. This deployment will support the ongoing efforts of Sage Memorial Hospital to expand and strengthen employee housing infrastructure, alleviate critical staffing needs in rural medical environments, and at the same time provide important employees with access to stable housing that is close to their work locations.
Sage Memorial Hospital is a non-profit healthcare system managed by the Navajo people, serving the Navajo Nation. The organization continues to invest in housing solutions with the aim of improving the recruitment and retention of medical professionals in communities with inadequate services. The factories of BOXABL pre-produce Casitas, which are designed to shorten construction periods and increase the supply of housing at a faster rate than traditional on-site construction methods, while maintaining long-term durability and livability standards.
BOXABL, co-founder and co-CEO, Galiano Tiramani stated: "This collaboration reflects the kind of real-world needs we are seeking to address. Medical systems, especially those in rural communities, may face genuine challenges in providing housing for their staff. We believe that factory-based construction solutions like those offered by Studio Casita can help meet these needs." This project embodies the joint commitment of BOXABL and Sage Memorial Hospital to solve the shortage of staff housing in medical environments through efficient factory-based construction methods.
The Studio Casita unit of BOXABL is designed to be a fully equipped and quickly deployable living space that can be used in various scenarios, including annex residential units, backyard residences, employee housing, housing in remote locations, and emergency resettlement after disasters. More details regarding delivery and on-site installation will be announced as the project progresses.
