Alethios has released a comprehensive decentralized data collection tool that allows researchers to integrate participant report results, data from wearable devices and sensors, digital biomarkers, as well as home-based biomarker tests into the same study without the need to write code, collaborate with multiple suppliers, or visit clinics. The company claims that this platform has already been used by various clients in the fields of nutrition and health, functional foods, academia, and biotechnology.

San Francisco, October 22, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- A software platform that provides research infrastructure for human health studies, Alethios, has today launched a comprehensive set of decentralized data collection tools. Researchers can now integrate participant report results, data from wearable devices and sensors, digital biomarkers, as well as home-based biomarker tests into the same study without having to write code, manage multiple suppliers, or visit clinics.

Alethios provides support for research in the fields of nutritional supplements, functional foods, academia, consumer health, medical devices, biotechnology, and life sciences. The range of research designs, from consumer perception studies to pivotal, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials, can all be conducted on the same software platform. Customers including Givaudan, Thorne, PLT Health Solutions, Applied Food Sciences, Hofseth BioCare, Helaina, Samphire Neuroscience, and Sonoran University are using this platform to generate rigorous evidence from the homes of participants. The new integration is built upon the belief established when the company was founded: rigorous multimodal research should be affordable for teams of all sizes and budgets, and it should cover the entire human health ecosystem.

This suite covers four layers of data, and each layer can be used for code-free integration in Alethios Study Planner and Study Operator.

  • Report data: Photos, videos, audio, and text submitted by participants, as well as a set of clinically validated scales, which include both publicly available scales and authorized scales.
  • Generated health data: Personal wearable devices and health platforms, including Apple Watch, Google Health, Garmin, Oura, Whoop, and Fitbit, as well as sensors such as the continuous glucose monitor from Abbott, and the bioelectrical impedance scales from Withings and InBody.
  • Digital biomarkers: Verified cognitive assessments supported by BrainHQ, skin health selfies supported by Haut.ai for dermatological and cosmetic research, as well as 3D body composition scans supported by Prism Labs.
  • Home-based biomarker testing: dried blood spot cards, Tasso blood collection devices, and home-based microbiome kits. Standard testing items include male and female hormones, cardiovascular, metabolic, inflammatory, vitamin D, and hydration status, all processed by Choose Health. Next-generation testing includes epigenetic clock analysis from Muhdo and TruDiagnostic, as well as gut and vaginal microbiome sequencing from GutID and other metagenomics sequencing partners.

Adding a data type only requires a few clicks. In Study Planner, researchers select the data types needed for their studies and schedule each one for the participants. For home test kits, Alethios handles ordering, shipping, and unique ID verification to ensure that each sample is matched with the correct participant, with results then fed back into the platform. Once the study is launched, Study Operator integrates all data streams into a real-time monitoring dashboard.

Default compliant data collection

Every component on the platform operates on top of existing infrastructure, with built-in verification and data integrity safeguards. Each design is intended to encourage subject compliance without compromising data quality. Researchers can:

  • Arrange time on the research timeline for each integration, so that each data point can be accurately timestamped.
  • Link the completion status and compliance with milestone-based tracking and compensation, for example, by issuing a $50 gift card after the subject's kit is received by the laboratory.
  • Real-time monitoring of compliance for various data types through Study Operator enables the identification of issues before synchronization failures in wearable devices, delays in questionnaires, or the non-return of kits, thereby preventing these from evolving into missing data.
  • Each data point is automatically cleaned and aligned with the corresponding subject, so the research team receives a dataset that can be used directly for analysis, rather than having to splice together data exported from multiple suppliers.

"We have created Alethios for researchers in the entire human health field," said Zeenia Framroze, founder and CEO of Alethios. "With so many new ways of collecting data at home now, we want to provide research teams with the best tools available, no matter where they are. Whether someone is conducting studies to verify the claims about the efficacy of supplements or carrying out post-marketing monitoring of drugs, we aim to enable them to easily collect reliable subjective and objective data from participants across the country. The better and more readily accessible the data collection, the more we can advance our understanding of human health as a whole."

The focus of next-generation health measurement

"With so many new types of devices and home testing methods being developed these days," said Gurpreet Atwal, the Chief Technology Officer of Alethios, "we hope that Alethios will become a tool for scientists and innovators to quickly develop and validate new data collection methods, as well as a hub for the latest and most advanced technologies in measuring human health. With the rapid recruitment efforts of Alethiad Participant Community, these technologies can be tested from day one among a diverse and representative group of participants."

Companies that develop new devices or detect digital biomarkers can apply here to integrate with Alethios.

About Alethios

Alethios is a software platform that provides infrastructure for human health research. It is a full-stack software driven by AI, offering capabilities similar to those of a research team at a lower management cost. The platform unifies protocol design, IRB coordination, recruitment, subject management, multimodal data collection, and decentralized clinical trial reporting. Principal investigators, sponsors, and CRO rely on Alethios to generate rigorous real-world evidence across various industries of human health. Users can set up a study in just minutes, with the starting price for a protocol being $100 per month. Through Study Planner, Study Operator, and Alethiad Participant Community, research teams can use this software in self-service, hybrid, or fully managed modes, at a fraction of the cost of traditional research. Alethios was the winner of Nutra Healthspan Innovator Award in 2026, a finalist in the Vitafoods Europe Startup Challenge finals in 2026, as well as a finalist in the NutraIngredients - USA Startup Award finals in 2025.
