Arclin Announces Strategic Expansion of Nomex ® Manufacturing Capacity

A multi-million-dollar investment from Asturias will enhance supply chain resilience and meet the growing demand for Nomex ® paper in key markets such as aerospace, power infrastructure, electric vehicles ( EV ), defense, and others.

Alphalita, Georgia, USA, October 22, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Materials science company Arclin announced today that it will invest millions of dollars to expand the production capacity of its “floc” facility located in Asturias, Spain. This is an important step in the company's long-term growth strategy for investing in its Nomex ® business and will also enhance its supply capabilities to customers worldwide.

Arclin indicates that since the acquisition of Nomex ® in April 2026, the company has been focusing on investing in capacity, reliability, and long-term growth to meet the continuously rising demands of customers. The company stated that the sales volume of Nomex ® paper in 2026 set a record, and it expects supply to continue to grow in 2027.

Arclin CEO Bradley Bolduc stated: "When we acquired the Nomex ® business, we committed to investing in its future. Expanding production in Asturias will strengthen our global manufacturing network and help ensure that we can continue to support our customers as demand grows in the aerospace, power infrastructure, defense, and transportation sectors."

The Asturian plant has been an important pillar of the Nomex ® manufacturing network since 1993. With this investment, the facility will add Nomex ® paper production capacity and become one of four production sites in Arclin's global Nomex ® paper manufacturing network. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, with full production planned to commence in early 2028.

Arclin General Manager Mark Glaspey stated: "Our customers rely on Nomex ® paper to meet some of the world's most stringent application requirements, ranging from aircraft and electric vehicles to power generation and grid infrastructure. For decades, Nomex ® has been the benchmark for performance in mission-critical applications. Building on this heritage, we are advancing technological development, developing new specifications, and working closely with our customers to meet their evolving performance needs and drive new applications. This investment reflects our confidence in the future of these markets, as well as the key role that Nomex ® paper will play in them."
