Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse stated that although the CLARITY Act, aimed at clarifying the regulatory framework for the crypto market, is still stuck in Congress, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are using their own rule-making powers to fill in the gaps. This development is certainly encouraging for the industry.

XRP Today's News: Despite the Delay in the CLARITY Bill, Ripple CEO Says Progress in Rule-Making is Optimistic

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghaus stated that although the broader CLARITY Act is still facing obstacles in Congress, the GENIUS Act has become a turning point for many financial institutions to enter the crypto sector.

Garrinhaus stated during a speech at the Ripple Swell event held in New York on Wednesday that the stablecoin legislation for 2025 represents a watershed moment for the industry.

He admitted that the CLARITY Act, which was intended to establish clear rules for the crypto market structure, has not yet been passed. However, he said that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) are now relying on their respective rule-making powers to cover the areas that the act was intended to address. He stated that this shift is something the industry “should be very excited about.”

This month, after Senate Democrats voted against advancing a procedural motion, the "CLARITY Act" came to a standstill.
