Chase Bank's Global Digital Assets Research Director Geoffrey Kendrick stated that the hack on Binance could accelerate the shift of crypto transactions to decentralized exchanges, which in the long run is beneficial for Uniswap.
Kendrick said, "I would advise investors to pay renewed attention to Uniswap. Decentralized exchanges (DEX) have never experienced any vulnerabilities, whereas as the largest centralized exchange (CEX), Binance has been hacked, which should continue to drive up the trading volume of DEX and CEX."
Research by CoinGecko shows that in the second quarter of 2026, the top 10 spot DEX / CEX transactions accounted for 23.5%, an increase of 2.1 percentage points compared to the first quarter of 2026.
Kendrick indicates that he still maintains a target price of $100 for Uniswap (UNI) in 2030, but he says that the Binance hack is "another reason that suggests this prediction may ultimately still be on the low side."
This prediction is based on Standard Chartered Bank's previous view that by 2030, the asset size locked in DeFi could reach $2.7 trillion, and Uniswap will become a key trading venue for tokenized assets.
When discussing the broader impacts of the Binance hack incident, Kendrick stated that he expects prices to come under further pressure in the short term.
Cointelegraph reports that after Binance was attacked by hackers, the cryptocurrency market continued its downward trend on Friday morning. BNB fell by more than 8% within 24 hours, with Bitcoin trading around $77,000. Decentralized finance tokens also saw declines. According to CoinGecko data, Aave's AAVE fell 11.3% to $118.54; Uniswap's UNI fell 10.4% to $6.48.
Kendrick said, "We will only find a new bottom once the assets are unfrozen and more details about the hacker incident are disclosed."
